Lapog Grand Reunion International

by Leilani V. Estepa

I received this update about the Lapog Grand Reunion International from Atty. Ricardo Guzman:

Your article about the history of Lapog was a hit. A lot of our town mates have called us appreciating and thanking us for including it in the Souvenir Program. We told them that we owe it to you.  We, the Lapoguenians, are blessed with varied talents such as yours.
When we were reading the article before we went to the press, we were so overwhelmed with joy that we did not notice a couple of errors They are not that significant but it may be worthwhile to straighten it, now that it's still fresh in the minds of many.  First:  Floro Crisologo was our Congressman.  The Governor was his wife, Carmeling Crisologo.  Second:  The alleged ambush in Bessang Hill involved Gov. Carmeling Crisologo, not Cong. Floro Crisologo.  Third:  The incident in Sabangan had two versions: It was alleged that somebody fired upon the group of Floro Crisologo; the other alleged version was that Insiong Arellano was shot and killed in his house because he belonged to the opposing party and was an ardent political leader of Faustino Tobia.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our town mates who made the occasion an affair to remember. Not only the ones who attended but also all the people who supported the affair, one way or another. It was so evident that the excitement and bonding among friends and relatives were so strong and sincere. The place was comparable to that of an Arrival Area in the Airport.  There were meetings, greetings, kisses, hugs, cuddles, tears and laughter.  A lot of them have expressed their desire that Reunions such as this one should take place more often.
Our sincerest gratitude must also be directed to the people who, with their dedication and persistence, brought us all together in one place and time. We call them the Working Team.  The members are: Rudy Pira, our President, his wife Eldie; my wife Ninfa Sales Guzman; Marietta Padua Valledor and husband Pabling; Fred Panlasigui, our Vice-President; Aurora V. Dupitas; Alfonso Quilala, Jr. and his wife Diane; Rey Padua and wife Virgie; Teresita Gorospe; Freddie and Celia Valmoja; Fausto Valoroso; Primitiva V. Verador, Teddy Vera Cruz; George & Iluminada Sales Gabison; Ben & Estrella Sales Ramos; Ulpiano Guzman, Jr. and his wife Katherine; and Glen Guzman and wife Lalaine; and myself.
While enjoying the Reunion, we also had the opportunity to promote the projects that we are currently involved in helping our town mates, especially the latest one called:  Medicine for the Disadvantaged Lapoguenians.
Thanks again, Lani, for your article and for your help.  You are doing a great job!  Keep doing what you are doing.  We love you.

Thank you, Tata Carding, for the correction. I plan to publish that in the other Lapog site (which I still haven't transferred to our domain) but will make the corrections before uploading the file. (Posted July 9, 2006)
