If you’re one person who has a long to-do list or work around several deadlines, and want to keep track of your tasks, then Google Desktop is for you.

Google Desktop is customizable, depending on what plugins you want. Mine has a link to the latest news from around the world, a calendar, a world clock (the better to see which project manager from elsewhere in the world could still be awake and would likely be “breathing down my neck” while I work), a weather indicator (right now, it’s a hot 34 degrees C, whew!), Wikipedia and Google search bars, a photo box where I display my latest pics, and, most important, a To-Do list. It blends into your desktop, or you can choose to hide it yet it remains accessible at a click of the mouse through its icon in your Windows taskbar, near the system tray.

Go ahead, download it for free and you can later add gadgets from Google Desktop Gadgets.
